Trained in classical piano with more recent study with notable jazz musicians, Matt Michaels and Tad Weed, Jack’s love of jazz has made him a fresh voice in the Detroit jazz community. His sound evokes the harmony and lyricism of Bill Evans and reflects influences of other jazz greats like Thelonius Monk and Dave Brubeck. More contemporary influences are Gene Harris and Jeff Lorber.
Studied percussion under Ray Parker at the Conservatory of Music, also studied with Joe Morello from the Dave Brubeck group - Jazz Work Shop.
Dennis recorded and toured throughout the U.S. and Europe in bands such as The Techniques, The U.S. Army Marne Glee Club, The Lions Den, Renaissance, and Friends of The Family, Goodtime Convention, Future Shock, and The After 5 Jazz Ensemble.
