The Higher Choir is a psychedelic roots rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They are known for their explosive live shows, and original storytelling-style of songwriting. The subject matter of their songs ranges from a stoner-slacker in a downward spiral in “Whose To Say”, to an unpredictable netherworld specter in “Old Joe Clark”, to the modern NASCAR myth-making legend of the “Ballad of Ole #3”.
Since the bands inception, The Higher Choir performed at the Atlanta Braves opening weekend at Turner Field, and have quickly become a hometown favorite, playing to packed rooms on the weekends at such clubs as: Smith’s Olde Bar, Star Bar, and The Earl. Along the way they shared the stage with Grammy winning artists such as: Joan Osbourne, Soul Asylum, and members of The Black Crowes. Additionally, the band has had the honor to grace the stages of local Atlanta city festivals such as: Sweetwater 420 Fest, Big Tex Block Party, and The Summer Shade Festival.
The Higher Choir has just released the followup record to Halfway Home, aptly titled Steeped In Southern Tradition. It is out now and available on iTunes or Amazon.com. Go give it a spin!

"we're like a full glass of Southern Rock and Blues backed with a Folk chaser...but most folks call us Southern Blues Rock."

Southern Rock is a genre attempted by many but is perfected by few. However, there might just be life in the old dog yet. With a name like The Higher Choir, it’s no wonder we might have found our salvation.
