Founded in 2011, The Briscoe County Vultures fill a unique niche in the Detroit music scene. Combining classic country and rockabilly roots with old school punk rock, this 6-piece band has firmly implanted themselves in the “cowpunk” musical genre.
These seasoned musicians wield a vicious wall of sound, drawing inspiration from earlier cowpunk artists, such as Jason & the Scorchers, Beasts of Bourbon, The Supersuckers and many others. The tight-knit performances of these motor city cowboys and their country rose cover many traditional country themes, such as heartbreak, drinking, fighting and revenge.
Their music is fun, upbeat and extremely danceable. The Vultures had a full calendar in 2012, playing many shows at bars and festivals around the Detroit area. Now, it's 2013 and The Briscoe County Vultures are circling in the sky, ready to land on a stage near you!!

Special mention has to go to the Briscoe County Vultures, a band that plays old punk tunes in a cow-punk style. [These tunes] have never been played like this before.
