I Come from a family of musicians. My grandfather JB Maxcy was the first man to play harmonica live on the radio. -Atlanta Journal, Sept 22, 1922.
I was born and raised in Memphis TN and now reside in Winchester KY.

I started singing in public when I was 3 years old at the corner barber shop.
I did session work around Memphis until 1981. Worked in Sun Recording Studios, American Studios, Ardent Studios, Sounds of Memphis, and Stairway Studios in Memphis.

Was a featured performer at the first five Memphis in May music festivals.
Opening act in concerts with headliners: Rick Springfield, Pure Prairie League, Styx, Stephen Bishop, Koko Taylor, and Eddie Clearwater. Performed on stage and/or recordings with Furry Lewis, Leo LeBlanc, The Hombres, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bonnie Bramlett, Lindy Hearne, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, and played with Don McNatt and the Smplzat Band, in additon to fronting my own Harp Country Band at the Palomino in Los Angeles. Hosted a popular songwriter’s showcase in Los Angeles at the “Hideaway” in Shadow Hills. Many celebrities would come out (some to perform), including Bonnie Bramlett, David Carradine, William Shatner, and others.

“Harp Country” CD released in 1998. Over 10 years in the making. Three of the songs from “Harp Country” were featured in the motion picture “Devil Girl” (DVD Available late 2008). One song, “Down So Long” had a complete scene built around it, according to movie producer Tracy Wilcox. For more details about the movie go to

Latest album released in 2011 entitled "Memphis Town" is a full studio production with backing from the late BB Cunningham Jr and Robert Hall, both members of Jerry Lee Lewis' band. Two of the songs on the album were written by Danny Sheridan who co-produced the songs with Ronn.
