Indianapolis guitar lessons in your home
Mike Middlton Guitar Academy
I have a passion for guitar, music and for the progress of my students. I've taught hundreds of children and adults to play guitar over the years. I've aquired some very valuble teaching skills. I have a teaching methodology, but I certainly must customize each of my lessons to acomodate the student.
I am an easy going instructor. I want the lessons to be fun, but I also want the student to learn to play the guitar as quickly as possible. I strive to teach them the songs that they want to learn, but I also strive to teach them knowledge and skills that will make them great musicians. I've been teaching guitar since 1998. I taught at the Noisemaker Music Store in Wabash, Indiana for 9 years and I've also taught at Sam Ash Music store in Caslteton, Indiana.
I began playing guitar in 1982. I've studied with several professional guitar instructors over the years. I spent a few years in the Bandstand Music Program in Wabash, Indiana in the early 80s and eventually studied at Thomson's Music in Indianapolis until 1986.
I've been playing professionally since 1988 with numerous groups. The first notable group was called Sage. We played in some of the biggest nighclubs in the Indianapolis area. During the 90s I played with an original metal band called Groove Monkey which played hundreds of shows across the region. We opened for national acts such as Dokken, Quiet Riot, and Jackyl.
From 2009 to 2013 I played with a touring country/gospel band called God's Country. God's Country played at at churches, festivals and a few venues where bands like The Beach Boys, ZZ Top and numerous other national acts performed.
I've played for many years in Praise and Worship bands in churches, the most current being St. Alfonsus Ligouri in Zionsville, Indiana.
Currently I am playing 3 nights per week in an Indianapolis nightclub.
