Biography
Blackie Starks (Vox) and Adam Zemanek (drums) would often share the stage while in their respective bands Isaac James and Red Fall Rising and occasionally after the shows, they would hang out and write music seamlessly. When it came time to form Maximus, it was a hands down no questions asked move for the guys to become band members together.
Adam packed up his drums and moved west to live with Blackie, and they immediately began writing. Within a weeks’ time, they had a full length album worth of music finished and ready for the studio. Word got out about the band ahead of time, and they started to get national show offers around the country. Needing a band of musicians to perform, several friends stepped up to share the stage including Rich Silman who would later become a permanent addition bringing with him, bassist Brandon Orton.
The Foursome started to look for a permanent fifth member, and guitarist Steve Lampley was a no brainer. Introduced through a mutual band manager from Kansas City, MO, and having been friends for a few years, Steve joined the band, rounding out the lineup.
Maximus, less than a year old has already performed on television, shared the stage with members of Cinderella, Collective Soul, and Mötley Crüe, headlined their own events with large interactive crowds. They recently finished a collaboration with Phil Taylor of Future Leaders of The World, and are set to release two singles under the guidance of Atlanta based CBM Records, with major label producer Larry Gann at the helm.
A spring tour is currently being planned for Maximus and their single release hits stores January 6th 2015.
