“Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry? By far it would have to finding myself as an artist. They’re many artist out there, let alone in my own state you know? You can try to sound like many artists. You can rap like Tupac but that doesn’t make you him. You gotta find yourself, you got to be you. When I was coming up, I wanted to be the next Eminem, the next SPM, I wanted to be Pac so I wrote, acted, and sounded like them. Then one day it just hit me, I’m not them – never will be. I revised myself and knew exactly who I was in this industry. I’m Lil J”

“Lil J, name given from his father, has two hearts; one for the streets, the other for the art of rap. Inspired by Tupac, Bone Thugz -n- Harmony, and SPM, he gives his own story. Born from the gutter and surrounded by darkness, he uses rap as a light to shine. Lil J brings a new sound to Arizona. No trap music, just truth, and even stories from various people, as well as his own. He will continue to rep the streets, but will also strive to show the truth behind all the dark times. This young artist, who realizes that rap is losing the message of truth, will continue to be real.”
