Jenn McMillan is a Michigan-born singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist. She went to the University of Michigan- Flint and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocal Performance in 2013. She writes all of her own music. Though she finds it difficult to place her music into a specific genre, she generally describes it as being a mix of what she learned in school (which was mostly classical and jazz) and the music that she enjoys listening to (which includes genres like pop, blues, jazz, indie, and alternative).
One of her biggest musical inspirations is Florence + the Machine. Like their music, Jenn's music is very romantic and edgy and many of her lyrics speak of tales that are dark and eerie in nature.
Jenn has performed in some of Michigan's most well-known music venues such as The Crofoot in Pontiac and The Whiting in Flint. In 2010 she was even asked by the Chancellor of U of M-Flint to sing at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony where she sang the beloved Beatles' song, "Let It Be". Some other places she has performed include some of Michigan's largest fairs and festivals like the Eastern Michigan Fair and the Blueberry Festival in Imlay City.
Jenn's main goal is for her music to reach as many people as possible who will not only enjoy it, but will appreciate it and love it as much as she does.
