JaRay is a multi-talented vocalist/songwriter and recording artist from the Motor City and home of the Motown sound.
After recording his first song with producer Mark "3-1" Bingham (2006) at Triple Platinum Studios on the west side of Detroit, the studio became his second home. He spent much of his free time listening, learning, absorbing, and recording until studio owner Wayne "DJ Mann," Clark eventually shut down.
In 2009, JaRay signed with "C" Note Productions, a Detroit based artist management company. With "C" Note, he recorded a three song demo, in hopes of eventually signing a recording contract. The demo and new sound thanks to production from one of Detroit's hottest producers Darell "Red" Campbell, was well received. From this project JaRay produced two solid buzz singles; "Good Love" and "Heartbreaker."
JaRay went on to be a featured artist and was interviewed by Sylvia Simone of Detroit's own, WGPR 107.5 FM. "Good Love" was featured on the radio station and added to rotation. He also gained the attention of legendary radio personality Keith Landecker and has been featured on several radio stations in markets including MI, OH, TN, and FL.
Unfortunately, the ball stopped rolling. In 2012, after three years, JaRay and "C" Note Productions decided to end their business relationship. JaRay re-evaluated himself, re-branded, and began to take full control of his music career.
Now, as an unsigned independent artist, he is more driven and dedicated than ever. He has performed on numerous stages including music festivals like Arts, Beats and Eats , Motown Winter Blast, and Detroit River Days. He has been a featured performer at Greektown Casino, Campus Martius, and at The Redford Theatre. one of his biggest moments thus far was in 2013 when he was honored to perform as the opening act for legendary band Mint Condition, at The Garden Theatre in Detroit, MI.
Currently JaRay is focusing on completing his debut professional studio album. He has already released two singles "Takin' Too Long" and "You Don't Even Care" both produced by Darell "Red" Campbell.
His first music video for "You Don't Even Care" was directed by Diego Cruz of Detroit based video production company, Rupture Reality and was also released in 2014.
JaRay is finally releasing his much anticipated debut album. Look out for it this summer 2016!
