Born and Raised in Michigan on the East side of Detroit, Fresh Money grew up in a neighborhood that was considered a good neighborhood but was filled with the drama that comes along with growing up in the inner city. The rapper explains it was always something to see, everything from dudes getting chased off the block to fights and shootouts with rival neighborhoods that ended in injury, jail time and even death. Taking the advice from a friend that was older who said “whatever you do get off this corner” Fresh Money did just that. Graduated from High School and then attended college where he graduated in Columbus Ohio.
Unmatched in his writing skill Fresh Money has been noticed and acknowledged by countless teachers, peers and professors on his ability to make his words connect and flow naturally. Seeking opportunities outside his comfort zone has led the emcee to Ohio, Florida, Toronto, and now Atlanta. Not letting the word No stop him, "Fresh Money will be heard" the emcee says. On his records, Fresh Money's distinctive voice romances the instrumentals while leaving his impression on every song with lyrics that flow to every beat but never sounds the same. Fresh Money has his own style and is versatile enough to write an hood tear the club up anthem, r&b classic or a pop smash that’s for sure to get your attention. Even thou he doesn't sound like any artist past or present, Fresh Money's music influences stems from Jay Z, Nas, and R. Kelly to todays hit makers Drake, Flow Ridah, Rick Ross and Wale. Over the years Fresh Money has worked with some of his city’s finest such as The Renaissance Man, Silent Riot Productions, The Rat Pack, Sweetie Da Illest Dame and many more.
“Never give Up” A Phrase Fresh Money says he lives by. He says “You can’t have your ups without your downs” which summarizes his mentality on the music industry. Being on the verge of stardom to being set back to the point where you start questioning your talent has stopped a lot of emcees on their road to success. Even through the obstacles, Fresh Money Still continues to make timeless, impressionable music that range from true hip hop and r&b to pop hits that can easily place on the top 40.
