Three students who met in the Jazz program at the University of Akron wanted to bridge the gap between Hip-hop and Jazz. Nathan-Paul had played in various jazz trio's but when approached to perform at a benefit concert in akron, he decided to form a neo-trio combining old jazz elements with new school hip-hop. the absence of a drummer allowed room for a beatbox. which was used in late 70's early 80's hip-hop.
After propositioning long time friend Steven A. Miller who he'd already played with on multiple occasions they got together with Jul Big Green a guitarist who also did vocals on the side. Jul Big Green put down the guitar to pick up the mic as the front man of the group while Steve holds down the rhythm as the keyboardist as well as the bass player. Nathan brings the flavor with his fast rhythmic solo's that compliment Jul's vocals, While also beatboxing into a loop station which fills out the sound with a nice beat to groove too.
Flow Spontaneous has a constant flow of music, Sax solo's while lyrics are flying over the hard driven keyboards, sounds chaotic? One might think so but somehow it all seems to flow into a Organized Spontaneity. (Hence the name)
After a year break they reformed and now on in the process of recording their first EP.
