“It would be great to receive a Grammy or American Music Award but I don’t have to be recognized in that light, I just want my music to be heard.” Pure, humble and full of life, that’s what Cree would like you to see whenever she is performing. With influences like Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Lauren Hill, Eryka Badu, Beyonce and many others Cree knew she had a voice when her auntie told her to stop singing and turn off the radio but there was no radio playing.
As a former member of the platinum-R&B selling trio 702, Cree was nominated for a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award. The list of artist she has worked with include Will Smith, Neyo, Christina Aguilera, Brandy, Ray-J, Kurupt, 7 Aurelius, Lamont Dozier, Suge Knight, and Willie Norword just to name a few.
Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Cree decided to pursue her music career right after high school. At the age of 18 she moved to Los Angeles, CA to further her experience in the music industry. Her journey has taught her many lessons which she would like to share through her music. “I definitely would like to empower young females and to be that voice that they listen to whenever faced with a difficult challenge or to just uplift their spirit.”
When Cree is not in the studio working at her craft, she simply loves spending time with her family and close friends. “Family is so important to me, one of the reasons I chose music is to provide for my family.”
Currently Cree is working on her solo debut album entitled “That’s My Song” . “My goal is to be able to use my voice to move and encourage the world.” There is no doubt that with her soulful and unique voice that she will achieve everything she sets out to do.
