Cedar Teeth is a five piece band out of Colton, Oregon - about an hour east of Portland in the Cascade foothills. They have been a band for around five years, writing music together in a rustic cabin beneath a cedar forest. All the members of the band grew up in this region, including bass player, Rayson Gordon, whose family settled the land on which the band inhabits today, and whose grandfather built the cabin in which they now play. For several years they were content to write and perform locally, for the small but devoted audience of artists, fellow musicians, and generally radical folks that likewise inhabit this region of Oregon, only venturing to perform in Portland when requested by venues or other musicians who, one way or another, heard a live performance.

This all changed last year when Billy Oskay, fresh off working on Liv Warfield's new album The Unexpected, came into possession of a short - rather rough - demo Cedar Teeth recorded early on and decided that this was the next project on which he would invest. Over the next nine months, Cedar Teeth worked exclusively with Mr. Oskay, refining and crafting a portion of their catalogue of original material into their debut album, Hoot, which was released in June of 2014.
