My name is Carli Palladino and I have been singing for as long as I can remember.
When I was nine years old I decided to start taking voice lessons in my hometown of Denver, Colorado. These lessons were not like anything I had ever expected. My coach allowed me to bring in whatever song I wanted to sing and we played i on her sound system and performed it on a stage-like floor, with a microphone, in front of mirrors. Her lessons were not just about how to sing, but included how to perform. I fell in love with it and went one or two times a week for a couple years until my family and I had to move to Omaha, Nebraska.
Since I have been in Nebraska I have not stopped singing. I was in varsity choir and swing choir in high school and have recorded with multiple different producers in Omaha and was also involved in some public performances around town. Personal hardships kept me from working with these producers and made me feel like singing was never going to be an option for me. I have been going to the University of Nebraska at Omaha for five years...every year I have switched my major. It did not occur to me until this year that the reason I keep changing my major, the reason I do not feel like I will ever be satisfied with a career, is because the only thing I can see myself doing is performing. I love it. I live for it. It is therapeutic to me. Music is the only thing in the world that I do not mind dropping everything for.
I grew up believing that I was going to be a performer one day... and along the way I lost confidence and ambition because of situations that had happened in my life. But I am ready to do whatever it takes to good my foot in the door one way or another.
