BOP(harvey) was born on the campus street corners of Michigan State University in the early 80's. The septet quickly took over the town, the state and the region and by 1987 was locked into a grueling, no holds barred touring schedule that would produce over 2000 shows and 10 recordings, and a relocation to "home #2" in Providence, Rhode Island. B(h)'s shows were legendary dance-a-thons, laying waste to legions of fans who sang along to all of their favorites, including Dubmaster, Vibe and Lazarus. The band's infectious brand of reggae-ska carved its initials into the international scene, filling clubs and halls from coast to coast. Before taking a long overdue break in 1994 (a break that would ultimately last 15 years), the band made fans of notables like Conan O'brien and President Bill Clinton, who would offer the band plum spots on NBC's Late Night and the first Clinton Inauguration, respectively.
After reuniting in 2009, BOP(harvey) has enjoyed reclaiming its crown via major festivals in its home state. Currently working on its 11th recording, the band now draws 2nd generation fans, delivering smiling faces and sore feet to parents and children alike. Stay tuned, more fun ahead.
