The last night of the fair saw the return of the battle of the bands. This year four bands competed: Blues Dog Inquisition, Sled, Formula XY, and acoustic songwriter Nate Down. For the second year in a row, BDI won the competition and Sled was the runner-up.
Paul Nelson, bassist for BDI, said the band has enjoyed playing at the fair for the last three years and is happy to have won the battle of the bands again.
"We're honored to have won again," Nelson said. "We appreciate everyone who came out."
But Nelson said the members of BDI were a little nervous after they saw Sled perform.
"We were really worried after following them," Nelson said. "They've improved so much…We were really lucky that we won again."
