Growing up in Iowa, Abby Brown spent most of her free time writing songs in her parent's basement after discovering a cheap guitar in storage when she was 12. She worked part-time jobs during high school to build a make-shift studio, and recorded and released a CD of 10 songs when she was 16. At the age of 18, Abby moved to Boston, MA to attend Berklee College of Music, where she studied songwriting and guitar performance. She graduated in 2013.
Taking inspiration from the songwriting greats such as Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, and Jim Croce, as well as current folk icons Brandi Carlile, and Ray LaMontagne, Abby pens songs of substance and self-reflection that resonate with her audience.
Her music has been featured on Wellesley College Radio (WZLY), Homoground, Women of Substance Radio, and Autostraddle. Past performance venues have included The Red Room at Cafe 939, Harvard Square, Faneuil Hall, and the prestigous Berklee Performance Center (BPC).
She has written the theme song for a new web series called "Two Girls, One Theorem," and played on several studio sessions as a guitarist.
Her six-song EP, Go All In, is her first official release.
