99 Dollar Guitars opened its doors on April 15, 2005, in Reno, Nevada, with a simple goal = Sell a good guitar and a great price, and teach how to play it. After expanding to Carson City, Nevada in 2007, many new opportunities arose. Maintaining retail outlets in both valleys enabled the business to expand beyond the original model. After adding brands like Ibanez, Peavey, Schecter, Alvarez, and Washburn the Reno store relocated to its current location at 195 Damonte Ranch Parkway.
After tireless hours (years), 99 Dollar Guitars finally launched its new website: 99dollarguitars.com. As the website expands, so will the brands carried. In the Spring of 2011, access to the 99 Dollar Guitars School Band Instrument Catalog will be added. It will host access to nearly 90,000 items with a great fund raising opportunity for any school music program. In addition, 99 Dollar Guitars will be starting a band instrument rental program with the help of Music & Arts. The future is so bright, the store is wearing shades.
