For over ten years the members of 1592 have been immersed in the intense music scene of Detroit. Having played with a myriad of groups, they have come together to create a change in the music world. While other bands are content to strive for success, 1592 is bent on changing the pre-existing notions of the musical scene. The band recently received the 2014 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding Reggae/Ska Artist or group. Their debut Album “The Rise of the Fallen” captured the 2007 Favorite Album of the Year at the Detroit Music Awards in the Great Stuff/Great Sounds Category, their guitarist took home the “Outstanding World/ Reggae Musician” of 2008, the lead single “That’s It” off of their second full length took home the Outstanding World/Reggae Recording at the 2009 Detroit music Awards and members have received two Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Reggae group. Their blend of traditional music with newer technologies makes for an extremely groove oriented approach.
